MUSKEG MEADOWS GOLF COURSE
Golf in the Wilds of Alaska: Muskeg Meadows Golf Course
Experience the unique thrill of golfing in the wilds of Alaska at Wrangell Golf Club, affectionately known as Muskeg Meadows. Nestled between snow-capped mountains and surrounded by lush rainforest, this USGA regulation 9-hole course offers an unforgettable golfing experience in one of the most stunning natural settings in the world.
Muskeg Meadows features a 5,920-yard, par 70 championship course with a course rating of 119. For those seeking a full 18-hole game, the course is equipped with two flags at each hole. The 250-yard driving range is perfect for honing your skills, while the on-site pro shop offers clubs, carts, apparel, logo discs, beverages, and snacks.
Starting in 2020, Muskeg Meadows also introduced an 18-basket disc golf course with tournament-class baskets, providing a fun and challenging activity for groups. Open tournaments are held nearly every weekend during the summer, making it an exciting destination for both golf and disc golf enthusiasts.
The course meanders through rainforest and meadows, offering scenic ocean views and encounters with local wildlife such as Sitka black-tailed deer, bald eagles, and even the occasional black bear. The natural beauty of Southeast Alaska enhances every round, making Muskeg Meadows a truly memorable golfing experience.
Unique features of the course include the ‘Raven Rule,’ which allows players to replace a ball stolen by a raven without penalty, provided there is a witness. Additionally, there are no ‘out of bounds’ areas; if you can find your ball in the forest, you can play it without penalty.
