Tune in at 9:55 AM to KSTK 101.7 or visit www.kstk.org from Monday to Friday! Listen to the day’s featured bird song and get ready to “Name that Tweet” to win a prize! Contest will repeat daily until Friday, April 24th.

Participate in this photography class held by Wrangell Sentinel Reporter, Jonathan Dawe! Come and learn about the best tips in photography so you can be prepared to capture the best photo of our precious Stikine River birds!
The class is free and everyone is invited to participate!

The Nolan Center will display artwork from students at Evergreen Elementary School. The exhibit will be available for the duration of the festival. Come stop at the Nolan Center and admire the artistry!

For three days, Wrangell Parks & Rec will hold Bird Bingo! Want to win a prize? Pick up a bingo sheet from Wrangell Parks & Recreation, complete it, then return it for a chance to win a special Bird Fest prize!

Wrangell Tours’ Birding Festival Edition by Jonas Crabtree
This special festival edition of our signature walking tour explores the deep connection between Wrangell’s vibrant culture and its stunning natural environment. As we walk from our historic downtown to the Petroglyph State Historic Site, we’ll focus on the local stories and natural forces that make this island unique. It is a perfect opportunity for festival guests to experience the scenery and history of the island at a conversational pace.
Each guest will also take home a custom designed Wrangell postcard and sticker.
This is First-Come, First-Serve. Maximum of ten people per tour.
The tours are free for anyone wanting to participate.

School students from the elementary school will take a field trip to meet with USFS Wildlife Technician, Gwen Baluss. Students will assist Gwen with the annual banding of local birds and use this opportunity to learn more about banding and wildlife!

Come on down to the Nolan Center to participate in a presentation by our Guest Bird Fest Speaker, Dr. Mike Wierda!
The topic of the presentation is 40+ years of Environmental Toxicology with Bald Eagles! This presentation reviews the onset of Organochlorine pesticides, the bald eagle’s decline, highlights insight from over 40 years of monitoring, and looks ahead to the program’s future.
Event is free and open to the public!

Bring your binoculars and take a walk with Bonnie at Muskeg Meadows Golf Course. Join Bonnie at the Nolan Center afterwards for coffee and pastries for casual conversation about birding.

Summary: Mack is an adventure-loathing duck who does not intend to leave his New England pond anytime soon. However, he is convinced by his more adventurous wife, Pam, to head south for the winter. Things do not go as planned.
